Since 1372 Glamis Castle has been a royal residence and the family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne. It is perhaps most famously known as the childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and the birthplace of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret. The Castle is also the famous setting of Shakespeare’s play ‘Macbeth’. With its many turrets and spires and its links with history and royalty, Glamis truly is a castle of fairytales and legends.
